Welcome, Ada Violet (photos!)

I already posted this one, but I love this picture and don't look have as exhausted as I felt!

Ryan getting a chance to feed his new little girl.  We were supplementing because a) I wasn't able to get any milk/colostrum out yet and b) she had jaundice and needed supplementing to get over it.

Tomorrow is the anatomy scan, so for now just a picture update :)

Three Decades Old!

We celebrated my 30th birthday on Saturday, and it was awesome!  Ryan wanted me to feel young, so he had everyone dress up as old people, and we had a bouncy castle, a pinata and some pin the tail on the donkey.  By the end of the night, I'm pretty sure I was the only sober person left, hahaha!

Zoso wanted to get in the bouncy castle so bad!

Piiiiiictures

I know I should post more often than I do, but I'm still tip-toeing around all this.  We have told all the family and friends, and also the bosses, so that's out of the way at least!  And my next doctor's appointment isn't until July 1st, which will hopefully reveal whether it's a boy, a girl, or somewhere in between.
So anyway, here are some recent pictures and stuff!

Strange cancer awareness thingy down town.

Spring!

After playing hide-and-seek with us for the last few weeks, spring is unarguably at our doorstep.  Here are a few pictures from my yard:

Throwback Whateverday

Eh, I always forget to do these things on Thursday, so here's a Throwback Saturday for some reason.  For this post I went pretty far back in my picture archive.  These photos are from April... a decade ago!  Back when I spent all my time (ALL MY TIME) in Boston, hanging out with the squirrels and geese.  Spring in Boston is gorgeous, so enjoy!

In Other News, A Hike

We took Zoso back to that hiking area last Sunday.  This time with ten times more ticks!  Ew.

Zoso is such a rebel.

My Beautiful City

I apologize for not posting this week.  The events on Monday, at the marathon, have thrown me for quite a loop.  Maybe it seems like I'm taking this a little hard.  After all, I wasn't even in town when it happened - I had planned on going in to Boston, but decided to wait until after this week since it would be so crowded.  But this city holds a very special place in my heart.  It's where I was born.  I went to grade school in Cambridge, a short hop from downtown, and starting around sixth/seventh grade, many weekends were spent gallivanting around town with my best friend.  No, mom, we didn't tell you because you would have said no.  It was awesome.
High school took me further away from Boston, but we all still found time on weekends and during breaks to laze around town, shopping, basically doing whatever.  And then college took me back into the heart of things.  My school was smack dab in the middle of Beacon Hill.  My work kept me in Boston until three years ago, when we bought our little house out in the country.
But I still try to get into the city often.
My fondest memories, my best friends, my favorite views... they've all been in Boston.  The idea that some jerks attacked my town on one of its happiest days fills me with the saddest, coldest feelings.  I can't have my old Boston back.  It's never going to be the same.  But I'll never stop loving it.

Here are some of my favorite pictures I've taken of Boston:

Last (Two) Weeks in Instagram

I forgot last week!  Noooo!  So this will be a big update...

This beauty is in the Salvation Army store in Hudson for $50 RIGHT NOW.  I would have gone for it if we didn't already have a fabulous mixer.

While The Sun Still Shines

I romped around the back yard with Zoso yesterday before the sun finally set.  It was warm, but not quite warm enough.  I think he had a good time - especially with Ryan being gone most of this week on business.  It's hard to cheer him up when he doesn't get to hang out with who he wants to!

The Abbeh Snow

When I was typing the title I mistyped show as "snow".  I went to correct it, but I realized that's probably a better title for it!

Check under the cut for some pictures from today!

Saturday Morning Means WORK!

Marine Wife Home and Life

My weekends are Sunday-Monday and I work on Saturdays, so they've kind of lost their excitement.  Friday nights are especially dull and TGIF no longer holds meaning for me.  But sometimes Saturdays are great.  Last Saturday we slept in because the whole of New England came to a screeching halt because of the snow.  It was almost three feet of snow!  The last time I remember that much in one storm was third grade.  That time there was ice on top of the snow and we had fun sliding up and down the drifts until I got the bright idea to "surf" the ice and ended up breaking my lip open.  That hurt!  But the snow was still pretty fun.
Ryan has been working through every weekend lately, so he has even less excitement when Friday rolls around.  At least his weekend work days tend to be shorter - and he brings Zoso to work with him on weekends, so he isn't stuck at home with a bunch of cats.

Speaking of pets, did you know Petco had cute little Valentine jester outfits?  Did you know they're super cheap right now?  Oh yes.

Ford puts up with just about any outfit.  He's an easy-going cat.
